Out and about

Sometimes it's good to get out and get some fresh air...

What a great photo shoot this was. This is a special place for our beautiful clients. Growing up playing in this park definitely triggered happy memories as we spent the afternoon together !

Your collection of images are being delivered this week. :)

~sigh~ I love my job

Busy little Bee

How has your week been?
Seems buzzzzare (sorry could help the pun) to as that in a blog about busy bees :)

October is just a crazy month here. We don't get to blog/Facebook all the photo sessions that we do, and that's ok. Some people love having their images online, and others for various reason don't. Its all good, I totally understand and respect their wishes. Sometimes, due to work commitments clients aren't allowed to show their faces (hehehe bit like that toothbrush/paste add).

This weekend has been fantastic so far we have raised 179.50 to be donated to the fund for Peta's assistance dog. It is very exciting and humbling to be able to do this for a friend. We still have 2 more photo shoots this afternoon. I thought while I had a couple of minutes to spare, we could update you on the craziness here :D

Meet Peta

If you have been unlucky in obtaining a photo shoot this weekend, I have the details for the fund if you would still like to donate and help the amazing young lady out. I can take credit card payments, and pass them on for you as well. Send me a message on 0421 200 003 or email kate@kategreenphotography.com.au.

When we have a final tally, I will definitely let you know how we went!

Wedding Magic

video

Weddings are beautiful. And I'm not just saying that to be corny. There really is something special about being invited to capture the lifelong memories of a someone's special day. Whether you get married in your backyard, overlooking the beach, your home church, or a magnificent cathedral, it is your day to celebrate becoming one with the person that you love.

Thoughts

I have been thinking, (scary I know...)
Do you ever have days where your head is exploding with so many ideas and random thoughts?

I have a friend that needs help. My friend needs an assistance dog. She has some severe mental disorders, and the doctors have decided that this will help her with her condition.

What can I do? I am just me... I want to give her the world.

You see, not many people know, but quite a few years ago, I also struggled with a mental condition. Not the same as my friend's, but it was debilitating.
Interestingly, there is still a stigma associated with mental illness, it is like... because it is not physically obvious, you should just "get over it" ~sigh~  It is a constant battle with yourself and others.

I yearn to be able to help in someway.

I want to be able to show that, no matter who you are, where you come from, what you look like, you are you, and that is a very special thing.

With my friend, she needs more help than I did. And if I can help by organizing a day that we donate money for her dog, then we can all work together. We can step up when our friends need us.

Please, you can help.

Big week

i know I keep saying ot, but what a crazy week.

It has been very exciting. I was approached to do a photoshoot for a major launch/campaign for a national company. Jeepers! I am very humbled and, um, what is the word... yes, scared stiff fits, lol. All good. it was a good shoot, and a fantastic opportunity.

I have also been busy with a mound of paperwork over the last two weeks, sorting and organizing. With the end of financial year, it is always interesting to see how much this little business has grown and developed. There are so many options and doorways opening for me.

I am one very happy little chickadee.

Thank you for your support and encouragement

Training :D

It was a fantastic afternoon today with a marketing seminar with the very talented Julian from Studio Max ! We learnt so much information, I am really excited to be planning for the business. There are an incredible amount of opportunities that have presented themselves over the last few weeks. It seems that among the photo shoots since I have been home from Europe, I have been planning, planning, and more planning :D. There are so many changes I am busting to show you, but I have to be patient. lol, yes, I know patient is not my strong point!
Excited?
Yep
Me too!

Tiny new baby goodness

Watching a new baby sleep is just.... sigh..... content.
Taking photos of your new baby is a priceless gift. It is amazing to see how much they grow and develop over the next few months and years. Baby photos can take a while as we run on their schedule. If they need to have a drink or nappy change (s!), or just have cuddles, we go with the flow.  Your newborn baby is only so little for such a short time, and will always be precious! A lot of the time photos that you see of babies are actually a couple of photos spliced together. It is photoshop magic! Your baby needs to be held, and kept safe at all times. Please, please, please make sure that you get a professional with experience to look after your baby, if you feel uncomfortable at any stage with what your photographer is doing, you must must must speak up. It is your baby, and they are more special than any image that someone may be trying to copy.

Meet my new friend Mr C. Isn't he divine!

Mr J is a special little man, as he is also my nephew...

Now we have another Mr J. I have had the privilege of photographing and watching this
little family grow.

Beautiful weddings

So many exciting, and beautiful weddings to blog this week.
It is really great to be able to see so many weddings, and see the millions of emotions that flow during the day. After all, it is the emotions and people you remember, long after the special shade of blue napkins fade into the background.

Meet Sophie and Jason.  Sophie and Jason's wedding was held on a particularly scorching day.
We had a lot of laughs as we captured their special memories.

Our next beautiful couple is Raylene and Jose.
They chose the stunning Emporium Hotel in the Valley to get ready, and also for their reception. Such a lovely hotel.

Set in the beautiful Woodlands of Marburg, without a doubt Katie and Keegan's wedding was destined to be fantastic! It is amazing to see the emotions of couples as they make their commitment together.

Kelly and Josh's wedding was a perfect day to have some creative fun! I love when we have the space and freedom to capture the style of the couple.

We started Casey and Chris' wedding preparations at their lovely home. And even got to take a couple of photos with their puppy - who is sooo cute! Using my second photographer to photograph the groom getting ready, takes the memories we capture to a new level.

It is really a pleasure and a privilege that you let me and my team into your lives as we strive to help you create memories and celebrate life.

Megumi and Richard's Japanese Wedding

It was such an experience to capture memories in another country and culture.
I was so honored to be able to take photos of your special ceremony. Just amazing. There are so many details, so much customs, so much colour.
Haha I don't think I wiped the smile off my face the entire day!!!

Megumi and Richard, I loved taking your photos. Japan is a beautiful country. I was amazed by the respect I witnessed. I look forward to returning to Japan.
